HP Pavillion Dm1z Review

Traditionally, netbooks were powered with Intel Atom processor & then came the dual core version of it. But belive it or not they were just good for office work, net users & media lovers. These processors came with shared graphics recently named GMA 3150, which was used for casual media.

Now we have this new competitor to break traditional Atom lineup & it is of course form AMD – Dual core E350. This new processor actually comes with in built graphics core HD 6310 & its performace is far betetr than Atom’s.

HP Pavilion DM1Z Netbook comes with the 11.6 inch of screen which is kind of in between size of 10.2″ & 13.3 .”  This makes HP paviallion special as its not to large & easy to carry around in any kind of backpack.

DM1Z have battery life of 9 hours which is fairly as good as any high performer netbook & 11.6″ of size makes keyboard of full size, so no hassle in changing your traditional keyboard size habits.

CPU performance of the E350 processor might be same to Intel Atom, So the power consumption But its way to better in Graphics & Video performance. It also plays HD videos like 1080p HD graphics with high bit rates flawlessly & did not even have to compromize the battery at all.

Talking about bad things we found in HP Pavilion DM1Z Netbook was the Bad screen with even worse viewing angles. Second thing is its price – which will make many think over resizing their budget. Recently we have bought Samsung’s n148 Dual core atom CPU & LED display which costs us only Rs.14,500 ($300) where is DM1Z costs $200 extra.

But still this netbook is a great performer at its price & we would have loved it with HD screen or something. We will give this netbook 8.5/10 overall.

Price of HP Pavillion DM1Z in India : Rs. 26,500 International price: Around $500
