As the netbook doesn’t come with a cd/dvd drive we have to use USB to get our things done.

There are many OS around the world specially designed for a netbook.

Here, i am with a small tutorial for everyone on how to install Ubuntu netbook edition on a netbook.

Tools needed for the installation are :

UNetbootin for Ubuntu : You can download it here.

Ubuntu Netbook Edition : You can download it here.

USB Mass Storage Device of storage capacity up-to 1 GB.

How to Install Ubuntu Netbook Edition :

Step 1 :

Download and install ‘Unetbootin for Ubuntu’, also download the .iso image of ‘Ubuntu Netbook Edition’.

Step 2 :

Run ‘Unetbootin’ and select the ‘Diskimage’ option. In this option ‘browse’ for the downloaded .iso Image of ‘Ubuntu Netbook Edition.’

Step 3 :

Below Select the ‘type’ as ‘USB Drive’, and in the ‘drive’ option select the drive letter of your ‘USB Mass Storage Device.’ Now Click on ‘OK.’

Step 4 :

Now it will make the pendrive bootable and also copy and extract all the files from the .iso image. After its done just restart you netbook and boot it from the USB Mass Storage Device.

Thats it, its all done. You just made a USB Bootable for installing Ubuntu Netbook Edition on to you netbook.

You can boot it and use the Live CD of it or you can install it on another drive of your netbook. Also, if you want you can install it inside your windows without loosing your windows partition and with the ability to remove it later if you want.

How to Install Ubuntu Netbook Edition inside Windows :

It very much simple guys. After your step 4 from the above mentioned procedure is over, don’t restart it. Just hit ‘Exit’ and remove you USB Drive. Now plug it again and play the ‘autorun’. As soon as the autorun start it will give you and option to install it inside your windows. Just feed in the details as per your requirement and install it. It may take around 15 mins for installation. After the installation is complete restart your netbook and at the boot menu you will get an option to boot into Ubuntu. When Ubuntu boots it will ask you for username and a password, if you have already choosen your username and password at the time of installation, put it in there or just insert username as ‘root’ and password as ‘root’.

At any time if you want to uninstall it just goto ‘Programs and Features’ menu in your control panel and remove it. After your next reboot your system will be cleaned and all your ubuntu files will be removed.
